Music Education Revitalization

Music education is vanishing in classrooms around the nation. NMC is working to restore essential artistic education by offering a range of music programs for students of all ages and skill levels. From our school programs designed for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 to our Master in Residence program, your donation will go toward providing resources, instruments, and expert instruction, ensuring that every student has access to the transformative power of music education.

NMC's Music Therapy Initiatives

Our music therapy programs have the power to change lives through on-site programming as well as an expanding list of hospital visits in Alberta and Saskatchewan. To help build NMC’s Music Therapy Initiative nationally, the Jim Pattison Foundation has generously pledged to match every dollar raised. This matching agreement will not only increase the impact of music therapy in Canada, but also create opportunities for music therapists. For more information on this expansion, view the press release here.

Cultural Preservation

NMC is home to a vast and inspiring collection of over 2,000 instruments and artifacts. Our donors play a crucial role in preserving the beloved artifacts, instruments, and recordings that help us tell the stories of music in Canada. By contributing to the National Music Centre, we are able to present permanent and traveling exhibitions in our museum, and continue our research and conservation efforts that foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of our musical legacy.

Artist Opportunities

Whether having a place to perform in one of our performance spaces, or joining an artist development program, your donation will open doors for invaluable opportunities for emerging and established artists alike. Your support will provide access to resources, such as our recording studios and iconic living collection, as well as mentorship, and platforms for artistic expression; allowing us to continue cultivating an environment where artists can thrive, innovate, perform, and make meaningful strides in their careers.
